@xxslayer99xx to make glass, you make a furnace (to make a furnace get a work table and fill all the blocks with cobblestone except the middle) and then you get sand, and then you heat the sand in the furnace. To heat it you can use planks, sticks, or coal.

when i do it a cobblestone slab appears

yeah, half steps do not exist anymore. Notch (the creator of Minecraft) completely took them out of the game

wait, i found out that if u cook cobblestone, you get regular stone, then you can make regular half steps
